MARION, OHIO - Imagine this if you would, firefighters being called to a E. Mark St. Saturday Morning and getting shots fired at them while dousing a fire.
That is exactly what happen Saturday Morning when firefighters arrived at the E. Mark St. home. Resident Shelly Markley told firefighters they were not permitted on her property, so they tried spraying the fire from the sidewalk. When Markley refused to move from between the bonfire and firefighters, she was warned that they would spray her with the hose. Not moving, Markley was sprayed. She then pulled out a .38 Smith and Western and began shooting at firefighters.
Marion PD were called to the scene and arrested Markley on charges of attempted felonious assult. Firefighters were then able to extinguish the fire that appear to be a baby crib set by Markley.
No one was injured in the altercation.
