MARION - Over the past year, Marion has seen it's share of death and sorrow because of drugs. One group plans to do something about the drugs impacting our community.
Choose! Don't Use!, a non profit formed in Marion, has set out on a mission to bring the community the awareness of drug abuse. On October 4th, the organization will hold its First Annual Roctober Fest on the lawn of the AmVet Park on Rt. 4 near Peacock Water from 11:30am into the night.
Eleven bands, bounce houses, hay rides, face painting, Littlest Zombie Run, and many more activities have been planned for the entire family. Bounce Houses will close at 6:00 and will cost only $5.00 per person for unlimited fun. On hand will be volunteers with information for anyone reaching out for help with a drug issue.
Organizer Melissa Williams, of the band Misery Ink (also playing the event), said in a recent video, "...even if one life is saved..." the organization would mean something.
