MARION, OHIO - Mayor Scott Schertzer met with several plant supervisors and other community leaders after learning of ConAgra Food' decision to close both Marion and Morral Plants.
Schertzer said he had heard "nothing but good things about those 170 employees affected by the closing" from Marion plant manager Zack King. "These employees have earned top ratings for performance among all ConAgra work sites." He said other employers should take note, particularly at a time with a number of employers say it's so difficult to find dependable employees.
Representatives from ConAgra said they will be holding a job fair for those interested in other positions that are available throughout the company in September. Employees will be able to meet with representatives of the Company during breaks and lunch.
